There has been many reports on the news about problems with dog treats.  We at the Lorain Animal Clinic recommend feeding only treats that are currently made in the USA.  Though the FDA has not said definitively that the treats from China are harmful, there have been reports of problems with them.  If you are feeding treats from China, discontinue and watch your pet for any signs of vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy.

Other alternatives that can be used are fresh carrots, apples, green beans, bananas, and peppers.  NEVER feed grapes or raisins.
